How it works
Our role is administrative. The physician’s role stays clinical. A patient should never travel for a procedure without a return and continuity plan.

The patient asks for information
The person states the type of care they want to explore. We do not make a diagnosis.
02 · Administrative
Existing records are gathered
Only with the patient’s authorization. The family physician has no obligation to participate.
03 · Administrative
Secure transmission to an institution
The file goes to an institution whose scope matches the request. The clinical choice is not ours.
04 · Clinical
The institution reviews the case
The team determines whether review is possible, whether more tests are required, which specialist should see the file, the estimated cost, expected hospitalization, and estimated recovery.
05 · Patient decision
The patient receives the proposal
The patient decides whether to continue, ask more questions, or stop. Commercial pressure must not replace that choice.
06 · Administrative
Administrative coordination
Appointments, file organization, language support, timing, local support, and communication. Transport and lodging go through the patient or a licensed travel provider.
07 · Separate commercial
The patient travels to Brazil
Clinical responsibility belongs to the treating institution. Our role stays logistical.

Care takes place
Physicians and the institution decide and deliver care. We do not enter clinical judgment.

Discharge documents
The patient receives a structured package: diagnosis, procedure, operative report, medications, imaging, labs, implants, pathology when relevant, restrictions, warning signs, suggested follow-up, and contacts.
10 · Patient decision
Return to Québec
The documents are meant to help continuity with Québec professionals. The receiving physician is never automatically obligated to assume a procedure performed abroad. That point is settled before departure.
Healthcare coordination and travel booking are different activities. At the outset, the patient would book flights and hotels directly, or use a travel provider holding the required licences. Québec Medical Bridge may help align dates. This prototype books no travel.
